'Resilience amidst Raindrops'
Lewin’s Honeyeater - Meliphaga lewinii
I observed this Lewin’s Honeyeater while on holiday with my wife in the tiny settlement of Copeland, just west of Gloucester NSW. We were rugged up, sitting on the porch with a cup of tea enjoying the mid-winter afternoon rain when this visitor flew in and landed in the tree a few meters from us. I had the camera on hand and managed to snap some great pictures with the rain falling against the blurred trees in the background. It was such a pleasure to paint this Lewin with all its little character details and the tiny rain droplets catching the light.
Giclée print reproduction on archival Hahnemuehle Photo Rag, 308gsm weight, 100% cotton, Matt surface.
Print size identical to the original artwork, oil on stretched canvas which measured 30.5 x 40.6cm (12 x 16in).
The Giclée print comes with the option of an additional 4cm white border to measure a full 38.5 x 48.6cm (15.15 x 19.13in).
